FOUNDER AND THERAPIST

Andrew Stravitz, LMFT

Andrew is a lot things: father, husband, therapist, consultant, minister. But ultimately he’s just a big dumb jock at heart, mixed with far more nerd than you’d expect. He avoids his own neuroses by baking sourdough, playing pick up basketball, and reading up on the theories of personality. But to clients, Andrew is a collaborator that encourages the embrace of fear, failure, and fragility, because what’s life without a few irrevocable regrets. He employs evidenced based treatments, such as Internal Family Systems, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and good ol’ fashioned psychoanalysis. He loves working with high conflict, complex trauma, and nerve-y taboos.

RESIDENT DOG

Marshmallow, Certified Good Boy

Marshmallow (aka Marzipan, Marzi, Marz, Floofus) is a gentle giant. He’s an 80-pound Pyrenees-Poodle mix, and looks like he weighs 100 because of his shagadacious coat. Most importantly, he is peaceful, tender, and calm. Neither a licker nor a talker, he is most often practicing his best rug impression. While not aloof, he will happily keep to himself unless you want to say hello.

He does not have regular hours, so having him join a session will need to be a surprise. If you do not want to interact with Marz directly—don’t worry, his feelings won’t be hurt—he’s happy to do a cloud impression under the desk.

While NMC has a single clinician currently, we share a suite with two other outstanding Marriage and Family Therapists and an exceptional adolescent Psych NP.
They can be found here and here.

Life’s too short to feel stuck in trauma, conflict, or grief. Let’s get unstuck.
